Still another example of what can happen when you allow the government to get involved with your healthcare has recently taken place. This one having been recently reported by the AP, takes place in Britain whose healthcare system is one that is often touted by those in this country who are pushing hard for government sponsored socialized medicine here in this country as well. The deadly situation involved an estimated 5700 British hemophiliacs, a substantial number of which were kept completely in the dark about the fact that over the course of their treatment they had become infected with HIV. Worse still is the fact that all the while the patients were oblivious to their condition, their doctors had been publishing their medical data in journals for years. Years before the patient were finally given the devastating news that that they were HIV positive. It is now apparent that these people all received tainted blood and were then infected with HIV, Hepatitis or both in what is being viewed as one of the worst treatment disasters in the history of Britain’s socialized healthcare system. Of those 5700 patients nearly a third of those have already died.

Hemophiliacs suffer from an inherited disorder that prevents their blood from clotting, that up until 1980 had most being treated primarily through cryoprecipitate, and it was at that time many patients switched to a new treatment with a product called Factor VIII. Factor VIII was supposed to be more effective in helping blood clot. It was later, in 1983, that hemophiliacs were developing aids, but the patients using the Factor VIII were consistently reassured by their doctors they had nothing to worry about. The risks of Factor VIII could be perceived as being somewhat high, because the blood plasma from thousands of donors is used to form each batch of Factor VIII which is in turn used to treat about 100 patients. Still, these patients continued to be told that they had nothing to worry about, the treatment was a safe one. Totally unknown to these patients was the fact that starting in 1983 they became part of a study involving hemophiliacs and the use of Factor VIII. It was not until 1987 that many of these patients were finally told of their infections, but to their surprise when they finally obtained their personal medical records, they learned the ugly truth, that they had been used for an AIDS study that had begun years earlier. Also unknown to many of these patients was fact that that had been infected for as long as two years before finally being informed of their condition.

This study had been carried out with the British government’s approval, but it seems with very little oversight. So, without their consent ever being obtained thousands of patients were used as human guinea pigs without ever being told about their deadly condition, in some cases for as long as two years. And all in a study approved by their government.

This is just one more example why the government should be allowed no where near the healthcare system of this country. It shows the governmental abuse that can happen when people are forced to entrust their healthcare to their all-caring government. It also shows that when your healthcare needs fall under the purview of government bureaucrats, standards of care and safety, physician conduct and overall patient care go flying out the window. Those who continue to advocate such a system are peddling nothing but snake oil. The consequences of such a socialized system can be deadly and who among us wants to be, or wants one of their children to be the first casualty of such a flawed system?

So Obama has finally made his decision and has picked Slow Joe Biden, the plagiarist, as his VP running mate. And I’ve heard that it’s because of Biden’s foreign policy experience. Please, give me a break. Personally, I would have bet that Biden would have been the last choice. Guess that shows what I know. I mean really, how is anybody supposed to take Slow Joe any more seriously than Obama. Let’s face it, the only difference between these two is that Biden is old and white and Obama isn’t. The theme for this ticket should be, "Dumb and Dumber, Leaders of the Free World!" Sounds like a great bumper sticker, doesn’t it? Has anyone ever been able to take Biden seriously about anything? His tenure in the Senate says much more about the intelligence, or serious lack thereof, of the Delaware voters who keep sending him back to Washington than it does about any brilliant political abilities he may be thought to possess. Let’s face it here, the list of any major or significant legislative accomplishments that can be directly attributed to Biden is of about the same length as the list that can be attributed to Obama. This guy does nothing in the Senate but collect dust!

What is there exactly that voters are now supposed to see in Obama that wasn’t there before he picked Biden? How is this choice supposed to have a positive impact in changing voter’s minds about Obama’s sorry lack of judgement? And what are the voters supposed to come to expect these two to do that will in any way be considered as positive "change" for the future of this country? Neither seems to be willing to do what is necessary to help those struggling today under the weight of increasing food and fuel bills. All that can be expected is an increasingly dangerous approach to foreign policy, an over dependency on a corrupt United Nations and a further advancement of a socialist agenda that will lead to an even larger and more out of control Federal Government than we already have. If Obama thought that by picking ol’ Slow Joe he was going to pacify criticism of his obvious lack of experience I think he missed the boat on that one. I just don’t think that’s going to happen for anyone who still thinks that experience is important. Because for anyone who has ever witnessed the great Biden intellect in action it makes no sense and you would think that most folks must really be scratching their heads over this one. Facts being what they are this guy has the I.Q. of an ice cube. I just don’t understand how this is supposed to add an air of experience to this ticket or increase Obama’s chances of getting elected. Give me a break! Biden himself has been known to have voiced some pretty harsh criticisms regarding Obama’s major lack of experience. So what, now we’re supposed to believe him when he starts talking up all the great abilities and skills Obama would bring to the Presidency? Someone is living in a dream world!

As we move ever closer to November the Democrats are nearly salivating, as they become more and more obvious regarding their efforts to implement their master plan. A master plan consisting of putting into place a government where all three branches of our Federal Government will end up firmly under the control of Liberal Democrats. By attempting to create the impression, through their allies in the press, that they are the true harbinger for the necessary "change" they say Americans are yearning for they hope to convince just enough voters to go their way. Using the usual Democrat tactics of spreading lies, and creating false impressions through innuendo, deception and deceit, everything is fair game if it allows them to achieve their goal. And should they in fact be successful in their blatant attempt at this complete power grab, culminating in a complete monopoly political power, it will truly signal the end of our personal freedoms and severely alter our way of life in this country. It will amount to nothing more than a coordinated assault on the very foundations of this country with the Democrats and the mainstream media working in concert to drag this country severely to the left, inflicting and incalculable amount of damage on this country. And for what? Pure, unadulterated political power and nothing more.

We keep hearing the Democrats speak about "change", but change to what or from what? Whenever Democrats talk of the changes they want to bring to America, it usually means I’m going to end up with a lot less of something. Less freedom, less disposable or discretionary income and quite possibly less of chance to get the medical care my family or I might need. And it definitely means that I’m gong to end up with a lower standard of living. I mean, try to picture in your mind an America with Obama, Reid and Pelosi at the helm. Does that not honestly terrify you? These brilliant minds are already formulating a plan for their assault on the evil capitalist economic system, which I might add, is the economic engine of the World, and for what? Why, so they can ruin it, of course. You see, if they can successfully wreck our thriving economic system they are then able to achieve their all important goal of forcing even more Americans into a form of servitude to the government they will be in charge of and thus to them. I don’t know about anyone else but the thought of being forced into a form of indentured servitude or even worse, having my children being forced into and growing up basically in bondage to the almighty government is simply unacceptable to me.

Further evidence of their plot to undermine and weaken this country is the way Democrats view an ever increasingly dangerous world. Whether it be the threat of terrorism, an emboldened Russia or from China with it’s growing more as a military threat, Democrats seem hell bent to weaken America on the world stage. An when looking at today’s world situation on any given day one has to wonder under which circumstances or scenario it would be acceptable or beneficial to employ or implement the Democrat philosophy of appeasement and pacifism, while placing the blame on America for all that is currently wrong with the World. A perfect example of the screwed up Democrat view of things is how the Democrat candidate for President can say he sees no difference between America and her allies invading Iraq to remove a despot who had murdered hundreds of thousands of his countrymen and of Russia’s recent invasion of neighboring Georgia. What kind of a skewed view of the world is this? I can just see it now. President Obama telling Putin of Russia, "You better stop, or you’re in big trouble!" Right, then what? Despite what Democrats may think, there must be a point where America must back up her rhetoric with the use of military force. Rhetoric alone with no threat of force accomplishes nothing. But that’s something Democrats, especially Obama, are totally incapable of. A willful disregard for dangerous world events only increases the likelihood that the danger presented by certain events will grow out of control, and quickly. And taking Obama’s gross inexperience into consideration as well as his willingness to belittle our country at every opportunity, can we trust him to use the stick when necessary. Or, will he feed our enemies a constant diet of carrots? America must remain the beacon of freedom for the World, for if that beacon is allowed to go out or even to dim the consequences will be worse than any of us could possibly imagine.

Here we sit with what can arguably be called the most pivotal election in a generation happening in a little over two months and we have as one of the candidates for President a man who is without a doubt the least qualified candidate since Jimmy Carter. And surprise, surprise he’s another Democrat. This man who would be president is completely lacking all of the requisite qualities while possessing none of the abilities that one would normally expect to find in a candidate for president to possess, at least to some degree. If he does in fact win the election, he becomes not only our leader, but the leader of the "free" world. His oft-repeated lack of judgement on any number of occasions as well as his gross lack of character clearly makes him a clear and present danger to the future of this great country. Armed with a Socialist agenda he seeks to transform our country overnight attempting to achieve that mythical utopia so often heard about in his well traveled, liberal circles. There is a definite reason he is called the most liberal member of the U.S. Senate.

Now at a time when the stakes could not be higher, it is not the time to elect such a seriously flawed and ill-prepared candidate as Obama. It takes much more to be president than the ability to deliver flowery speeches while standing in front of a teleprompter. His glaring lack of experience is surpassed only by his Goodyear Blimp sized ego. That same inexperience is there for all to see whenever he is not in front of that treasured teleprompter or when reading from one of his focus group tested speeches. It’s during these times he’s the most interesting to watch because it is then that the real Obama comes shining through as the bumbling, incoherent and nonsensical moron that he is. (Let’s all go out and check our tire pressure.) It is really hard to fathom just how it is that we have a man who is a serious contender for president without ever having to take s stand on any of today’s important issues. Actually let me correct that last statement. Because in reality he’s taken countless positions on any number of key issues with his position at any given time being driven by whatever crowd or organization he happens to standing in front of at the time. Don’t like his opinion today, simply wait until tomorrow, or the next day and you’ll eventually hear one that you like. But, it will only change again. He seems more than willing to do or say whatever he feels he needs to do or say at any given time in an attempt to gain support.

One of his most glaring weaknesses is his complete transparency regarding his contempt for our brave soldiers fighting and dying keeping this country safe from the terrorists they are fighting. Strange sentiment coming from a man who yearns to be the Commander-in-Chief, whose single most important job would be protecting the country from foreign attack. Oh that’s right, according to Obama there’s no such thing as the war on terror, it’s all about America going out and invading other countries just for fun. As well, we do not need a president who is not to his very core proud to be an American every single day of his life. Or, a president who, if past history is any indicator of Obama’s future actions, seems to derive some sort of twisted enjoyment out of slandering his country at every opportunity, especially while in foreign soil. Gee, how Jimmy Carter-esque. And especially we do not need a president who, if Obama’s rhetoric is to be believed, who wants to Europeanize America. His desire to recast America in Europe’s image as well as exposing a willingness to kowtow to a completely dysfunctional United Nations are two more glaring reasons why we should not hand over the reins of power to anyone so ignorant regarding this country’s place in the world. That would be a disaster of Biblical proportions, creating consequences that this country may well never recover from. And now at a time with Russia once again on the prowl and with all the uncertainties surrounding the growth of China’s military now is not the time to have a president that would more than likely go squishy when it is strength that is needed. Especially when it might come to standing up to potential enemies of our country and to have the backbone to not be intimidated by the threat of a confrontation with either one of these corrupt giants. Ignoring potential hostile situations will not make them simply disappear.

Look, I could go on more about all the reasons this man is not suitable for the job he is pursuing, but I’m just not sure I’m making any headway.

Let's take a second here and be totally honest with ourselves.  To his very core Barack Obama is nothing more than a liar and a manipulator, and if you still choose to vote for him and he does become President you will deserve everything you get. The really scary thing here though is, that the rest of us who saw through his crap, WON’T! I simply do not understand people who continually believe this guy, automatically buying into all the nonsense that he is repeatedly trying to peddle. Absolutely no good can come from an Obama presidency, NONE, ZIP, ZILCH, ZERO, NADDA.

The plan this guy has for our country will do nothing but take us back to the future. For God’s sake, take the time to look past the flowery, well-scripted speeches and the perfect little photo ops and you’ll see nothing. Nothing but an empty suit being perfectly packaged and attempting to be sold to the unsuspecting voters as a man wholly ready to assume the most powerful job in the world. That this guy could very well be our next President is NUTS! No, it’s worse than nuts, it terrifying. And it would appear that the reality of preventing him from becoming President rests on the shoulders of a very few people. Because you see, there are, among us, those who will not vote for him under any circumstances, just as there are those that will vote for him no matter what. So it would seem our fate rests solely with those in the middle, yet to decide. But the question remains, can they be persuaded to vote for him? Without looking back at his "career" and looking at his so called record and searching out the facts about the real Obama, yes I think they can and will be persuaded to vote for him. But with a guy that is so extremely dangerous to the future of this country there is so much that we simply do not know, and must know before anyone steps into that voting booth and pulls the lever for Barack Obama. Voters MUST know for whom it is they are voting! The severe lack of character thus far exhibited by Obama on almost a daily basis demonstrates to me, at least, that he is not the man for whom I can or even should be voting for. And, he also the man that I should do my best to convince as many others as possible not to vote for as well. He is a fake, a fraud and a liar doing nothing more than blowing smoke. He is the genie of the lamp from who it is we will get our three wishes granted. We must beware of this man named Obama, nothing good can come from his being elected President. NOTHING!

Since it was decided by the voters, back in 2006, to hand complete control of Congress back to those pillars of civility, those incorruptible, true blue, and completely honest Democrats, what exactly of any substance has been accomplished. Democrats, through the outstanding leadership skills of Ms. Pelosi in the House working in tandem with that other insidious individual Harry Reid in the Senate, have managed to accomplish a congressional approval rating down into the single digits. With that stellar accomplishment it seems more than a little baffling to me why the voters in 2008 are actually considering handing the Democrats an even greater majority in both houses of Congress and quite possibly the presidency to Obama.  Whoa, wait a minute.

Now I will be among the first to agree with all those who say that the Republicans were provided with a golden opportunity back in 1994 when they were entrusted with both houses of Congress, only to turn around and end up squandering it. The end result of that little fiasco was that in 2006 the voters showed them that they did not appreciate that. How had they managed to lose the confidence of the people? The answer is really quite simple. They accomplished that feat by, of all things, trying to out Democrat the Democrats. To most voters there seemed to be absolutely no difference between the two parties. When we needed them most, Republicans seemed to have forgotten who it was that had put them there. They also seemed to forget who it was that could send them home. We felt betrayed and we let them know it.

Now today in 2008, there seems to be a Republican spark on display in the House, demonstrating that maybe, just maybe Republicans have learned a valuable lesson and the error of their ways. At a time when our "leaders" should at least be discussing constructive, sensible suggestions regarding gas prices being at an all time high all the Democrats wanted to do was to go home for a 5 week paid vacation. 5 WEEKS !!! Gee, it must be nice to be able to afford to go on a nice long paid vacation. And what exactly are we all supposed to do in the meantime? At least 50 or so feisty Republicans have decided to make some noise, and to at least attempt to do something about the high prices we’re all facing today. That uprising continues, and I must say I am proud of those men who have decided to take a stand. Those men are all we have to protect us from Speaker Pelosi and her stated goal of protecting Mother Earth from the evils of oil, and all us ignorant little people who just don’t know what we’re doing.

Since assuming control, the Democrats have chosen to focus on much more crucial issues like raising the minimum wage, which most likely has contributed at least to some degree to the slowing economy, instead of helping out the vast majority of Americans struggling under the weight if ever increasing gas prices. So it was left to the Republican minority, finally showing some backbone, to continue the good fight. The Democrats have been completely unwilling for years to do anything about this country’s energy situation.  However, one can trace the Republican effort all the way back to 1995 when they passed a sensible energy bill only to have to vetoed by another stellar Democrat, then President, Bill Clinton. Democrats remain as nothing more than stubborn obstructionists when it comes to passing any legislation that puts forth sensible attempts at a reasonable energy policy that attempts to increase supply in the interim while alternative fuels are explored to make us at some point, energy independent. We are left to assume, that by their actions, the Democrats are perfectly content with the high price of gas and couldn’t care less about the plight of middleclass Americans as they struggle to make it to work every day paying higher and higher prices at the pump.

And now here we are on the verge of possibly handing the Democrats even greater numbers in Congress. Can you imagine the consequences if we hand them a veto proof Congress that in effect would allow them to tighten their grip even more over the insanity of keeping gas prices so high. There would be NO new drilling, No new refineries, No new nuclear plants, No electricity from clean coal and No windmills in the Kennedy’s favorite sailing spot. If fuel prices remain high, or even they go even higher, the damage to our economy will be incalculable, and totally against the will of the people that our politicians were sent to Washington to represent. That idea needs to be rethought, it can not be allowed to happen. I’m getting sick and tired of having to fight every single day to keep my freedoms from being taken from me by a government that’s too big and way out of control. Politician must be forced to remember from where it is they get their power, it comes from WE THE PEOPLE!

Now, on the other hand, what matters most to me, and to most conservatives I think, is the stand a candidate takes on the issues important to us. And if that candidate happens to be black, so be it. I resent the attempt of being bullied into having to vote for a candidate who does not stand on my values or support the issues important to me, or face being called a racist. The mainstream media loves to turn every election between a white candidate and a black candidate into something that's all about race. But from your average white voter’s perspective it’s never really about race at all. I never look at the race of the candidates. The fact of the matter is quite simple, I will NOT vote for anyone who wants to raise my taxes, screw up my health care, keep gas prices high or who shows absolutely no desire whatsoever to protect this country, no matter what his or her skin color. For those reasons, and those reasons alone, there is absolutely nothing Obama could say that would make me vote for him, and it has nothing to do with the color of his skin.

When you hear Obama’s wild proposals regarding how much more money he intends to spend, if elected, you’ve got to be asking yourself where the heck is that trillion dollars for all this additional spending supposed to come from. The incomprehensible spending program that makes up his "economic" plan doesn’t really make much sense. If I’ve got this right, his idea for strengthening our already somewhat shaky economy, is to take even more money from those of us who actually pay taxes so that he can spend more on social programs that benefit primarily those people who basically don’t pay any taxes. How exactly does increasing the size of our welfare state help to make our economy stronger in any way?

For me it’s about smaller government, not bigger. I’m really getting tired of being considered as nothing more than a piggy bank for the Democrats. They continually want more and more of what little discretionary income I have left after buying ever more costly gas and groceries. And with food and gas prices, at least at this point, predicted to go even higher I’d like to know where they expect people to find the money to pay for their government expanding programs. At the end of the day the race of a candidate just doesn’t matter. It’s their character, honesty and integrity that matters. And here the choice for president is obvious. We must dodge the big bullet coming our way in the form of Obama.

Contrary to what Obama and a vast majority of Democrats may think, creating more and/or expanding the current size of an increasingly costly government bureaucracy will do absolutely nothing to protect the freedoms enjoyed by so many in this country. Much to the disgust of Liberals, the cost of protecting our freedom must instead be paid in the form of a strong, well equipped and well manned military. Sadly, the cost of that freedom is often paid for in the form of the lives of our brave fighting men and women. Sad as it may sound it is necessary, and it has been that way since the very beginning of this great country. These men and women who value freedom so much that they are willing to make that ultimate sacrifice to preserve that freedom for future generations of Americans are of a very rare breed indeed. This sense of patriotism felt by many, but especially by those serving in uniform seem to be something that just totally confounds liberal Democrats because it is something that to completely foreign to them. They have no point of reference, because to them the mere thought of fighting and possibly dying for one’s country is simply ridiculous.

You see, liberal Democrats just don’t think of, or even define freedom the same way that most all other rational thinking Americans do. They see freedom not as something that has been bestowed on man by God, but instead as something that should be bestowed on man by government, and to be doled out as government sees fit. And for the most part they continue to have a very low opinion of those who willingly fight to defend our freedom. Those very same people who fight for the freedoms enjoyed by people they don’t even know. Soldiers go off to war to defend this great country and our very way of life, not for the glory and especially not because the money is good. But because they’re needed. They fight and die for their country providing for our security, something for which we shall be forever in their debt. And it’s a debt that we will never be able to repay. But they don’t seem to care about that. And it’s not only the freedom of Americans that they bravely defend but the desire of freedom by people all over the world. Because were it not for the light of freedom that emanates from this country that sends out a beacon of freedom to all points of the globe, what would freedom loving people have to strive for. As a nation we must remain able to demonstrate what a nation of free people can accomplish.

Democrats seem to be mystified by these patriotic Americans’ love of their country. It’s because Democrats see America so differently than do the rest of us. To them America is nothing more than an evil plague upon the world, responsible for all that is wrong with the world, no matter where. They say that every single thing that is wrong in the world today, or will go wrong tomorrow, can be laid directly on America’s doorstep. You know, being a Democrat must be a pretty depressing thing. I cannot imagine being that angry all the time, or feeling guilty because I feel blessed to live in this great country. It’s really quite sad.

Sounding much more like a man running for the leader of Europe than for the President of the United States, he stated that there is a definite need for America to become more like Europe, and that Europeans are correct in their belief that the world would be a much safer place if that were to happen. He even went to far as to promise them that under a President Obama, a course toward the Europeanization of America would be a top priority of his administration.

He told them that they were right to consider Global Warming the preeminent threat that we face globally. "As we speak, cars in Boston and factories in Beijing are melting the ice caps in the Arctic, shrinking coastlines in the Atlantic, and bringing drought to farms from Kansas to Kenya" and "This is the moment when we must come together to save this planet. Let us resolve that we will not leave our children a world where the oceans rise and famine spreads and terrible storms devastate our lands."

He went on to tell them, that under an Obama presidency, the United States will never act independently of the Europeans, or uniliaterally without them. "That is why we cannot afford to be divided. No one nation, no matter how large or powerful, can defeat such challenges alone." Especially not the Iranian nuclear threat: "My country must stand with yours and with Europe in sending a direct message to Iran that it must abandon its nuclear ambitions."

Adding that the goal of abolishing nuclear weapons supercedes the single minded goal of preventing Iran from acquiring a nuclear weapon. "This is the moment when we must renew the goal of a world without nuclear weapons…It is time to secure all loose nuclear materials; to stop the spread of nuclear weapons; and to reduce the arsenals from another era. This is the moment to begin the work of seeking the peace of a world without nuclear weapons."

And the drivel continued as he proclaimed to the masses that trade policy under an Obama administration won’t be for free trade, but only for trade conditioned upon union and environmental demands. Trade that will facilitate the liberal ideal of wealth redistribution rather than the much frowned upon free market. "Together, we must forge trade that truly rewards the work that creates wealth, with meaningful protections for our people and our planet."

He went so far as to say, and this part makes me a bit queasy, that the European Union is the model of the future and that we have transcended the era in which America should be asserting itself on the world stage. "…we need a strong European Union that deepens the security and prosperity of this continent, while extending a hand abroad. In this century - in this city of all cities - we must reject the Cold War mind-set of the past, and resolve to work with Russia when we can, to stand up for our values when we must, and to seek a partnership that extends across this entire continent."

Groveling to the point of being sickening, he added that America should emulate the Germans on carbon reduction ("Let us resolve that all nations - including my own - will act with the same seriousness of purpose as has your nation, and reduce the carbon we send into our atmosphere.")

And finally, and quite honestly worst of all, this man who would be President of these United States apologized for America’s wrong doing, promised to stop the use of torture and asked for Germany’s (and Europe’s) help in extending European policy here to America. "Will we reject torture and stand for the rule of law?" and "Let us build on our common history, and seize our common destiny, and once again engage in that noble struggle to bring justice and peace to our world." This should be called the audacity of stupidity and ignorance! Thus the prophet has spoken, and all "MUST" hear him and do as "HE" commands them.

America is not Europe. Americans are not Europeans. And hopefully by the grace of the true messiah, we never will be. There is nothing about Europe that is much worth emulating. Nothing! Europeans, as a people, are nothing more than weak kneed, lazy, self-indulgent cowards suffering from an acute case of international jealously. Europe has made itself irrelevant regarding important world matters. But they only have themselves to blame. They’ve basically castrated themselves. They’ve lost their backbone, except for the French whom it could be argued were all born without one, to face down the true evils of the world. All they can do now is bad mouth America, who was their savior only a short 60 years ago. Some gratitude! They should be striving to emulate us not the other way around!

I think it is fair to say that what the election this November may boil down to is a very critical referendum regarding the future of this country. You see, it will decide whether the citizens of this country wish to maintain their liberties and freedoms enjoyed by all in this country for over 230 years or if they would rather the country move closer to a more socialist style of government. Do we as Americans really want the government to be allowed to encroach even father into our everyday lives? With Obama getting standing ovations in the socialist capitals of Europe, it’s clear from his speeches the direction in which he would like to move this country. The question is, is it the same direction that most American’s would also like the country to move.

It’s a fact that over 50 percent of the people in those very same crowds so enthusiastically cheering Obama in Europe are totally reliant on their governments for everything they get in life. It’s also a fact that the countries of Europe suffer from double digit unemployment, staggering crime rates due in large part to arcane gun laws and they have incredibly high income tax rates and exorbitant gasoline prices. GEE, sounds like the way to go to me!! But this is the very same direction that Obama wants to take this country. So this November we will see if it is also the direction a majority of voters wish to go as well. If you think we’re headed in the wrong direction now, what are you going to think if Obama wins?

America was the first democratic society ever created by free men as a free and independent nation. Just stop and think for a minute about all that this nation has accomplished in just over 200 years. Europeans like to lay claim to thousands of years of history, but comparatively speaking, what have they really got to show for all those years. Other than the Holocaust, centuries of slavery and servitude as well as numerous dictatorships, not much. Without the United States most of the world would still be living in darkness. Yet, Europe is the place that Obama wants us to emulate. It just doesn’t make any sense to me. Obama is dangerous and he does not have our best interests at heart. He wishes to take us down that same well-worn path traveled by all those that have supported the many failed European attempts at a governing system, Socialism, that just does not work.

I bring this subject up for a very important reason. While, politically, there is nothing on which I can agree on with the Democrats, there is one thing I do agree with them on regarding this election. It’s when they say that this election will be the most consequential in most of our lifetimes. Now, I have said more than once, here, that I am far from thrilled with the fact that John McCain is my party’s presidential candidate. But having said that, by not voting for him, what exactly am I, or any of the rest of us going to be accomplishing. We must keep in mind what is at stake in this election and what the "consequences" of an Obama victory will most likely result in. Let’s say for the sake of argument, that all of us who are not crazy about McCain simply say the heck with it, I’m staying home this year. Ok, now let’s take a close look at what the "consequences" of that little tantrum are likely to be. First off, it would be a given that the Democrats would increase their numbers in both the House and the Senate, quite possibly to the point where they would have a filibuster proof majority. Add to that, Obama sitting in the White House with the distinct possibility of being able to appoint 2 or maybe even 3 Supreme Court justices.  After the dust has settle there'll we be having been willing accomplices in the assisting, as well as contributing to a complete Democrat take over of our government. Because all of a sudden in one swift stroke the Democrats will have effectively gained control of all three branches of our government. Are we really ready to accept that scenario? And will we be able to live with ourselves after having assisted them in their endeavor?

I cannot speak for anyone but myself but that scenario literally scares me to death. The whole concept of checks and balances that our Founding Fathers had the foresight to establish will simply be shoved to the side leaving the Democrats totally unimpeded and able to inflict untold and unimaginable damage onto this country. Take the time, just for a second, to go over in your mind every hair brained, costly, ridiculous scheme and/or concoction you’ve ever heard come out of the mouth of a Democrat, then picture it as a reality. Then see if you can figure out, with no way to stop them, just how long it will take the Democrats to implement and put into action each and every idea.

You think gas is expensive now? You had better hold onto your wallets! Because with the Democrats in complete control there will be no chance of any new drilling, any new refineries, any new nuclear plants, only the same old elitist rhetoric about alternative renewable wonder fuels, windfall profits taxes, suing OPEC, and any number of other stupid ideas that do nothing to produce one more drop of oil and nothing to lower the price of gas one cent. Some plan!

The democrats are determined to destroy, or to at least severely damage, this country through their agenda of the thoroughly discredited socialist form of government regarding the economy, national security, immigration and even our healthcare. They are driven to lower our standard of living as well as our standing in the world. They feel that the very idea of protecting the sovereignty of this country is something that should be relegated to the past and they wish us to move us ever closer to a world government complete with world taxes all to be dominated by a obviously dysfunctional United Nations that is totally hostile to the interests of the United States. As well, they are just as determined to shove down our throats the most destructive revamping of the best healthcare system in the world. And for what, to tighten their grip over our lives.

But without a doubt what is the most dangerous potential outcome of a complete Democrat takeover, is the suicidal scenario that would be their plan for the national security of this country. With the full implementation of the Obama Doctrine consisting of a complete retreat in the war on terror along with the advancement of the failed policies of appeasement, pacifism and ignorance all followed up by numerous empty, meaningless threats of retaliation, the future looks none too bright. Democrats have a vested interest in our losing in Iraq, a worsening economy, and even rising food and gas prices. They do their best to convince Americans that we’re back in 1929. The worse they can make things sound the more people they can get to vote for them, and oddly enough a lot times it seems to work.

So what it all comes down to is this.  Are we ready to face the "consequences" of an Obama and Democrat sweep come November? Personally, I am not! For the simple reason that John McCain on his worst day in office would be infinitely better as President than Obama would be on his best. John McCain is the only thing that stands between patriotic, rational thinking Americans, and the totally destructive agenda of today’s Democrat Party.
